Hogwarts Castle Print

from £18.00

A celebration of the castle! Built circa 993 AD by the four founders , the castle is a stronghold of ancient, powerful magic, and is at one point during their training home to every British student studying magic.

The castle is depicted surrounded by Asphodel Lilies, and Wormwood, as a tribute to Severus’ continued love, and remorse for Lily:

Severus’ first words to Harry are recorded as “Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?”

According to Victorian Flower Language, Asphodel is a species of Lily symbolising ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and Wormwood symbolises ‘absence’ and also bitter sorrow. If you combine the two, his question translates to mean ‘I bitterly regret Lily’s death’.

Originally painted with watercolours, professionally printed on 300gsm lightly textured card. Available in A4, or A3 sized prints.
